General

Under certain circumstances, your Keypad may continuously flash red or appear to be totally unresponsive. This could happen most likely when the Keypad’s firmware update failed to complete for some reason (Bluetooth disconnection, unknown errors, etc.). You can follow the steps below to resume firmware update.

Important Notes:

  • The Keypad cannot be used while firmware update is not complete.
  • While the Keypad is in the firmware update failure state (flashing red/unresponsive), it drains battery much faster than usual. Please resume and finish firmware update as soon as possible.

Case 1: The app showed “Firmware Update Failed”

(1) If you have not deleted the Keypad from your account, you can restart firmware update following the steps below:

    1. Make sure that your phone is close to the Keypad and Bluetooth is enabled. Enter Keypad settings from home page > Devices > Others > Select your keypad.
    2. You should see a popup to update the firmware. If not, scroll down and select Firmware Update.
    3. Tap “Update Now” and wait until firmware update is complete. Please keep the phone close to the Keypad during the process.
    4. You should see an “Update Successful” message when firmware update is complete.

(2) If you have deleted the Keypad from your account:

    1. Make sure that your phone is close to the Keypad and Bluetooth is enabled. Tap the “+” button at the top right corner of the home screen to add the Keypad, and tap “Next” for the following steps without any other operation(e.g. inserting batteries or initializing the Keypad).
    2. During the “Connecting to device” step, you should see a firmware update popup. Tap “Update Now” to update the firmware.
    3. You should see an “Update Successful” message when firmware update is complete.

Case 2: The app showed “Update Successful” but the Keypad seems unresponsive, or the red light is flashing

  1. Force-quit the app
  2. Remove batteries from the Keypad, and insert them again.
  3. Restart firmware update from Keypad settings > Firmware Update.
