By Quovolez – April 1, 2019

Answer 2: you will need a SD card for video recording to work
By Derek – February 13, 2019

Answer 3: It should automatically detect movement and send photo to your phone. Video requires as card

question_answer
Do i need a computer at home to use this, or is wifi and my iphone ok?

Answer 1: Currently they don’t seem to offer PC or MAC software, only an app for your Android or iPhone. I am currently using via Android & you can get live view, notifications & such when you are away from home. Currently sitting at work looking at the camera in pan mode.
By Hubba Bubba – May 31, 2019

Answer 2: WiFi + iPhone is enough

question_answer
How do you talk through this for people to hear you?

On the app, when you’re on the camera live stream page, there’s a large “talk” button in the middle of the screen. Tap that and you will be able to talk to and hear from the person on the camera end.

question_answer
Can i switch it off or disconnect the cam directly from the cam? i would like to be connected only when i get out of home. thanks!

You can switch to “Private” mode (at the bottom of the home screen) while you’re at home, and switch to “Away” when you’re out.

question_answer
Will this detect motion through a window?

Answer 1: If the camera is facing the window then it definitely detects any motion there. But I assume you’re asking about whether the window sensor does that? The window sensor works like this: it has two parts, attached to the window pane and its frame. If the two parts are separated (window opened), then it triggers an alert. So as long as the “motion through window” moves the window pane, then it will be detected
By BOSMA SMART HOME – May 8, 2019

Answer 2: I would say depends. During the day I believe so it will see motion through the glass. At night in infrared mode probably not as the glass reflects the IR light back to the camera. Glass & IR light don’t get along very well unfortunately.

question_answer
How do you shut it off when your home?

Answer 1: When you go to the app, the main screen has Mode option. In that mode option if you select private, camera would turn off automatically.
By Minnie – May 14, 2019

Answer 2: There is no on and off button, so unless you unplug it , just leave it on…

question_answer
Can I use it as a baby monitor? If yes Will it play the audio on my phone or just an alert?

Answer: Hi! I’m not sure which feature you’re looking for as a baby monitor but it does have sound detection and motion detection, as well as two-way audio. It doesn’t, however, play audio on your phone

question_answer
Is it audio communication between doorbell and Bosma X1 or smart phone? or is it only alert from doorbell once it's triggered?

Answer 1: Communication is only between smartphone and camera. Doorbell is notification only, however, camera can be programmed to move toward area of the doorbell that is pushed.
By Jeff Weinstein – April 3, 2019

Answer 2: This is a security webcam with smart phone app, can’t be used as doorbell and is not for outdoor. I returned it, since i didn’t hear from customer support for my Voice Message with WIFI range issue. IT does not work if we move it 10 feet from router Lynksys 8500.
By Mr. Ravi Sreeram – April 3, 2019

Answer 3: The doorbell is a simple accessory and has no audio feature. However, we’re adding more features to the system so you can customize what happens when you press the button. We are also working on a smart doorbell that does have audio and video. Stay tuned!

question_answer
This is my second unit, replaced for defect. now this is doing the same thing. it’s fine for a few minutes, and then it’s inaccessible. help!

Answer: Hi there.. we’re sorry to hear that you had issue with connection. We’ll need more details to pin down the cause but most likely this is due to network channel congestion, i.e. there are too many other devices connecting to the same router that the radio band the camera is using becomes too noisy.
Could you try disconnecting other devices from the router, and reset the camera to connect to the router again to see if the issue is resolved? Also feel free to contact us via [email protected] or call us at 800-976-0881

question_answer
I was wondering if i mounted this camera in a trailer would i be able to view it while i’m driving? would the signal transfer through metal?

Answer: The camera does not directly stream to your phone, but rather goes through our server, for security reasons.
But it should work as long as 1) your trailer has a WiFi router on it that has internet connection, and the camera is successfully connected to it. 2) Your phone has internet connection, either through the same WiFi or cellular data.

BOSMA SMART HOME – April 1, 2019

How do I keep This from notifying me every 3 minutes?

Answer: You can go to camera settings (the gear button at the top right corner of the live view screen) -> Recording Modes & Notifications, then turn off the notification, or increase the notification interval. Which type of notification are you seeing constantly? We are releasing an update that will fix an issue where in some cases false alarms may arise, resulting in too many notifications.
